I. WAFLT Conference Summary

I think it goes without saying that the WAFLT

conference was a success! We had a well-attended

AATSP meeting Friday evening, in which the results of

the elections were announced as well as the many

upcoming AATSP events. Our Saturday luncheon was

enjoyable, with a lively presentation from the

Bailadores del Sol. One last plug for Ricardo - if

you would like to buy postcards to send to colleagues,

friends, students, etc., he still has more available.

sessions for Spanish teachers during the conference.

II. ELECTION RESULTS:

V. NATIONAL SPANISH EXAMINATION 2002

The National Examinations were developed as a

motivational, extracurricular activity and contest for

students of members of the Association and its

chapters. The NSE, a proficiency-based test of

reading and listening comprehension designed for

junior and senior high school students of Spanish, is

the most widely used test of Spanish in the United

States.

Participants must have their dues paid by December 1,

2001. Please pay before deadline so your name is on

record both at National and State rosters by Dec. 1.

AATSP membership is for the calendar year. To join
