III.  INTERNET: (from NCLRC Language Resource)
E.L. Easton (www.eleaston.com)
Description:  Don't be fooled when you first view this
site's home page. The main
focus seems to be on teaching English as a Second
Language, but in fact
there are a plethora of foreign language resources,
even under the
"English online" section.  Beginning here, I suggest
clicking on the
"Country Studies" link, where you will find links to
various sites where
students can research almost any country. Many of the
sites cover topics
such as history, geography, political structure and
government, culture,
education, social structure, religion, foreign
relations, military,
transportation, and general statistical information
(birth rate,
unemployment, population, etc.). Under the link called
"Live Web Cams,"
you can even view live pictures from cameras stationed
in cities around
the world.

Back on the homepage, click on the heading ^"Teaching
Methods." Here you
will find links to information and articles about a
wide range of topics
related to both education in general (such as Madeline
Hunter, Piaget,
Bloom's Taxonomy, Multiple Intelligence, Montessori,
etc.) and to
foreign language teaching specifically (TPR,
Suggestopedia, The
Communicative Approach, second language acquisition,
etc.).

Returning once again to the home page, click on the
^"Language online^‘
link. Here you can select links to resources for
teaching Spanish,
Latin, Italian, French, German, Russian, Polish,
Croatian, Albanian, and
Chinese. For each language there is a wealth of
resources, including
exercises, quizzes, worksheets, tutorials, and games
related to grammar,
geography, vocabulary, reading, writing, culture,
history, and
literature. Students can actually complete some
quizzes and exercises on
line, and then receive instant feedback. Many links
also include audio
components.
